What are Power of Eight Intention Circles and why is there power in setting a group intention?
Last night I facilitated my first Power of Intention Circle at Bliss Spiritual Co-op.
A Power of Eight Intention Circle is a gathering of 8-12 people for the purpose of harnessing group energy and focusing that energy on a set outcome in order to manifest a desired result. The positive impacts on both the participants in the group (the senders) and the receiver/s of the intention set have been heavily researched and supported by scientific evidence, which is outlined in the book “The Power of Eight” by Lynne McTaggart (https://lynnemctaggart.com).
I had high hopes for this event. I knew as soon as I heard Lynne McTaggart speaking on the program Wisdom From North on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JiJTuXjgqk&t=1026s&frags=pl%2Cwn) that this was going to be my next coaching endeavor. I felt energized. I felt like I HAD to do this. I immediately contacted the founder of Bliss and told her “I think we have another event for the Monday night Healing Arts series.” In the end, we chose the first and second Thursday of each month to ensure we had the right space and quiet we needed.
Once I knew I definitely was going to do this, I immediately began studying up on how to put together a Power of Eight intention circle. I read Lynne’s book and listened to or read everything I could find regarding setting a group intention and directing that intention with the power of our thoughts.
The results of the first night’s session were everything I had hoped for and more. I went to bed with the biggest smile on my face as I thought about all the positive energy that was flowing through me. I wasn’t sure if everyone was feeling this same energy, but I could only hope the rest of the group was feeling it also.
The two hours that the event lasted flew by so quickly that I ended up having to jot down everyone’s intentions and then send them out by email so that we could follow up each day at 11:11, resending to our “receivers” the love, support and desire that their intention be fulfilled.
For anyone who has never participated in an intention circle, or is interested in either starting one or joining one, please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to share my notes with you. Our thoughts are powerful! And when we join together in support of the highest good for all, we can shift the energy of the universe and feel the love that exists in this world begin to flow through us as if we were a constantly flowing faucet of good energy.
May the good energy stay with us all as we head into the holiday season. Sending love and wishes that your heart be filled with gratitude as you approach this sometimes hectic time of year, and may we begin to focus together on all the possibilities that await us, if we have the courage to set the intention to see them fulfilled.
